The BRC was designed by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation.

This 14 hour basic rider course is separated into two consecutive days. Courses are offered on Mondays and Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and Saturdays and Sundays. MRS offers a morning session (8:00am.-4:00pm.) and an afternoon session (11:00am.-6:00pm). Topics will consist of: motorcycle controls, rider and motorcycle preparation, basic riding skills, unique riding situations, advanced riding skills, dangers of riding impaired.

Course Length: Each day will consist of 2 hours of classroom instruction and 5 hours of riding instruction. This course is intended for beginner riders, but is also good for intermediate riders who want to strengthen their riding skills.

Upon completion of the course you will be prepared for taking a corner at speed, stopping quickly when necessary, avoiding traffic hazards, counter steering for better control, crossing grated bridges and railroad tracks properly, traveling skillfully in a group, riding more smoothly at high and low speeds, maintaining momentum in off-highway riding, techniques for rainy weather and much, much more!

All graduates of the BRC are eligible to test for their motorcycle license on-site. The motorcycle road test is administered by a certified examiner from the Illinois Secretary of State every (non-holiday) Friday morning.

Classroom: Motorcycle Controls, what to wear for comfort and protection, learn how alcohol and drugs effect your riding ability, how to create your own strategy for riding in traffic, dealing with critical situations, and more. You'll also be eligible to receive discounted motorcycle insurance rates once you've successfully completed the course.
