The Basic RiderCourse (BRC) was designed by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation and is the ideal place to begin now that you’ve decided that you want to learn how to ride! The BRC is a 14-hour course (4 hours of classroom instruction and 10 hours of on-bike training) that is completed in three days (1 classroom session and 2 riding sessions). While intended for beginning riders, it is also a great refresher for those who want to strengthen their skills.

A motorcycle and helmet is provided for each student during the BRC.

On-bike training takes place at 1628 W. Madison, Chicago 60612.

Graduates of the BRC are eligible to test for their Illinois motorcycle license on-site within 9 months of completing the course. The motorcycle road test is administered on select Tuesday mornings.
